Last updated 13 Oct 2026
AI drafts fast; you own the truth. Four passes give a natural, accurate script.

Why it matters
AI often invents numbers, names and citations that sound real. Publishing them costs credibility and, in some niches, breaks advertising law.
A single AI pass is usually generic. Split it: outline → draft → make it sound human → check.
Step by step
- Pass 1: give AI the structure, audience, length and the real data you have → ask for an outline.
- Pass 2: full draft from the outline, word count matched to runtime.
- Pass 3: rewrite to sound spoken (short sentences, everyday words, regional voice if needed).
- Pass 4: check — highlight every number, name and source; verify each or delete it.
- Read it aloud once; fix anything you stumble on.
Common mistakes
- Publishing AI's first draft.
- Trusting numbers AI provides.
- Letting AI praise a product beyond what its packaging says.
Ready-made prompt (ChatGPT / Claude / Gemini)
You are a fact-checking editor. Here is a script: [paste]. List every sentence containing a number, a person, an organisation, a year, a source or a benefit claim. For each, mark 'needs verification' or 'safe', and rewrite it without the number if it can't be verified.
Exercise
Run the fact-check pass on an AI-written script and fix every unverified claim.
Done when: No unverified number, name or source remains in the final version.

2. What is pass 3 for?
3. A number you can't verify?
