Data sources & limits
Last updated 13 Oct 2026
We would rather tell you what NicheLens cannot see than show you a confident number that is wrong. This page lists every source, what is measured and what is estimated.
1. YouTube
Source: YouTube Data API v3 (Google’s official API). Views, likes, comments, subscriber counts and publish dates are the numbers YouTube itself reports.
Limits: search results are YouTube’s ranking for your keyword and market, not the whole of YouTube; hidden subscriber counts stay hidden. Data is fetched live or from a cache of up to a few hours.
2. TikTok, Douyin, Xiaohongshu, Bilibili, Kuaishou, Instagram, X, Reddit and others
Source: TikHub, a third-party provider of publicly available platform data. NicheLens does not log in to any account and does not collect private data.
Limits: coverage depends on what each platform shows publicly and on the provider; some results can be missing or a few hours old. These platforms do not offer an official API for this kind of research, so we always show the source and time of the data next to the result.
Douyin and Xiaohongshu often hide view counts. There we estimate reach from likes, comments and shares and label it “estimated”.
3. TikTok Shop products
Source: public product listings and the videos linked to them, collected through the same provider. Sales numbers are the platform’s public counters, not the seller’s accounting, and can lag.
4. What is measured vs. estimated
Measured: views, likes, comments, follower counts, publish times, product sold counters (as shown publicly).
Calculated by formula (no AI guessing): Niche Score, outlier multipliers (views ÷ channel average), views per day, freshness — the same data always gives the same score.
Estimated: ad income (based on public RPM ranges per country and topic), reach where views are hidden, best posting hours.
Written by AI: strategies, topic ideas, scripts and prompts — always check them before publishing.
5. Accuracy checks
We re-check predictions against real views after 7, 14 and 30 days and publish the results on our accuracy page (Vietnamese). If a source breaks, the status page shows it and failed requests are never charged.
