Lock your character: the same face in every scene
Last updated 13 Oct 2026
AI doesn't remember earlier scenes. A fixed description pasted into every prompt keeps characters consistent.
Course · Stage 5: Consistent AI images & video · Lesson 13/24 · 9 min
Why it matters
Write 'the same girl as before' and AI draws a different girl. Viewers notice and lose the story.
A consistent character also builds recognition — viewers remember the channel through the character.
Step by step
- Write a 6-part character block: exact age, face, hair (+ accessory), outfit with one unique detail, dominant hand + held object, what never changes.
- Paste the block VERBATIM into every image and video prompt.
- Generate one portrait first and use it as the reference image for every scene.
- Each scene says 'same character as the reference image'.
- Check the whole image set before making videos — regenerating an image is cheaper than a video.
Common mistakes
- Writing 'same as above'.
- Changing outfit colours between scenes.
- No reference image.
