Videos keep being found when the title contains the exact words viewers type into search.
Course · Stage 6: Publish, measure, multiply · Lesson 26/40 · 9 min
Why it matters
Views from recommendations spike and fade; views from search can last months if the video answers the query.
A catchy title without the keyword lives on recommendations alone.
Step by step
- Type your topic into the platform's search box and note 5–10 autocomplete suggestions.
- Pick one main keyword that matches the video (not a big keyword the video doesn't answer).
- Put the main keyword in the first half of the title; use the second half for the hook.
- Description: first two sentences repeat the keyword naturally and say what the video solves.
- Hashtags: 3–5 on-topic tags, not trending tags that don't fit.
Common mistakes
- Keyword stuffing that sounds robotic.
- Keywords that don't match the content, just for views.
- Trending but off-topic hashtags.
