Playbook: making videos for another country
Last updated 13 Oct 2026
Same effort, different market, different income — but you must write for locals, not machine-translate.

Why it matters
Ad income per thousand views (RPM) varies a lot by country; Amazon, Etsy and US TikTok Shop affiliate orders are worth more.
Viewers spot machine-translated videos instantly: wrong phrasing, wrong examples, wrong holidays. Rewriting for the culture is what keeps them.
Step by step
- Compare 3–5 markets for the same topic: niche score, competition, estimated RPM. Pick a place with high small-channel opportunity and acceptable RPM.
- Dig in that market's language (NicheLens translates keywords) and break down 3 outlier videos by local creators.
- Write the script in the target language with that country's examples, units, holidays and currency.
- Use a native-sounding AI voice; if possible, have one native speaker listen to your first video.
- Post at that country's best hours.
Common mistakes
- Machine-translating a script and posting it.
- Posting on your own time zone while the audience sleeps.
- Picking the highest-RPM country even though it's brutally crowded.
Ready-made prompt (ChatGPT / Claude / Gemini)
Script: [paste]. Rewrite it (not line-by-line translation) for viewers in [country]: swap examples, units, currency and holidays to fit; keep the hook and beat structure. List what you changed and why.
Exercise
Compare 3 markets for one topic and rewrite one script for the chosen market.
Done when: Market chosen on score + RPM; the script has at least 3 culture-specific changes.
