Faceless YouTube niches for 2026, scored with real data
Last updated 13 Oct 2026
We scored 15 popular faceless niches for the US market from real YouTube and TikTok videos. Three still look open, nine need a sharper angle, one is crowded.
1. How we measured (read this first)
Most “best faceless niches” lists are opinions. This one is a measurement. On October 14, 2026 we ran each of 15 common faceless niches through NicheLens: YouTube and TikTok, US market, videos from the last 90 days, sorted by views. Each niche got a 0–100 Niche Score made of four parts — Demand, Small-channel opportunity, Freshness and Competition — computed by formula from the videos found (about 30–58 videos per niche).
Limits: this is one snapshot, two platforms, and about 40 videos per niche — enough to compare niches, not to predict your channel. “US market” means YouTube and TikTok searched with US settings; some top results are still in other languages (several Hindi-language videos appeared in history and horror). Scores change daily. Run the niche yourself before you commit — the dig on our home page is free and needs no sign-up.
2. Green: still room for small channels (score 65+)
AI horror stories — 78. Demand 85, small-channel opportunity 83, competition only 15. The strongest result in the set: a YouTube channel with 13,800 subscribers had a video at about 8.9M views (roughly 640× its usual), and a TikTok account with 50,500 followers reached 7.1M. Freshness is 42, so the format is not brand new — win on story quality and a recurring character, not on novelty.
Motivational speeches — 75. Demand 88, opportunity 79, competition 11, but freshness just 20: lots of the winners are older uploads re-shared in the same style. Two TikTok accounts under 80,000 followers passed 8M and 11M views. Treat it as open but repetitive — a distinct voice or theme (one stoic idea per video, one sport) is what separates you.
Psychology facts — 74. The most balanced green niche: demand 76, opportunity 62, freshness 73, competition 13. Small TikTok accounts (33,000 and 96,000 followers) had videos above 8M views. High freshness means new videos are still being pushed right now.
Luxury lifestyle — 65. Just inside green: demand 76, opportunity 68, freshness 22. Shorts of supercars and mansions from channels under 65,000 subscribers reached 5–11M views. Low freshness again: the audience is there, the format is aging.
3. Yellow: demand is real, you need your own angle (50–64)
Ancient history (64) and history documentary (56): demand 87–88, but small-channel opportunity only 42–44. Big outliers exist (a 12,800-subscriber Shorts channel at about 10.5M views), yet most views go to established channels. Pick a narrow era or one recurring question rather than “history”.
Stoic philosophy (63): opportunity 70 but demand 58 — a smaller audience that small accounts can still reach (two TikTok accounts under 19,000 followers passed 1.2M views).
Meditation music (63): opportunity 70, freshness 21. Long ambience videos from channels with 6,000–8,300 subscribers reached 3–8M views. The audience watches for hours; the bar is production consistency, not ideas.
Space facts (61), life hacks (57), personal finance tips (55), animal facts (55), reddit stories (54), minimalist lifestyle (54): all have healthy demand (life hacks 93, animal facts 91) but low small-channel opportunity (24–34) or higher competition (reddit stories 58). These reward a specific sub-angle — for example finance for one profession, or animal facts about one species group.
4. Red: crowded right now (under 50)
True crime stories — 43. Demand 85 but small-channel opportunity 9 and competition 69: the views go to large, established channels. Not impossible, but a new faceless channel starts at a real disadvantage here today.
5. What to do with this
1. Don’t pick from a list — this one included. Use it to shortlist two or three niches, then dig each in the exact market and language you will publish in.
2. In a green niche, study the small-channel outliers as a set: same length, same hook, same structure? Copy the pattern, never the video.
3. In a yellow niche, dig two or three narrower versions (for example “roman history mysteries” instead of “ancient history”) and keep the one with the highest small-channel opportunity.
4. Decide with 5 test videos before committing a whole channel. Then check real views after 7, 14 and 30 days.
6. Raw numbers
